Update Week of 6/8/20

Parents and students,

The final set of assignments has been posted to Teams and Canvas. The Time Capsule assignment does not need to be submitted, unless students would like to show what they are submitting. I will be going on vacation on 6/13/20 and will not have access to email until I return. If you need anything from me, please let me know by Thursday so that I can get it for you in time.

Update Week of 6/1/20:
Good Morning Parents,

This is just a quick update. New lessons are posted to Teams and Canvas. This week teachers will be putting together the students belongings. I will be returning all folders with student work to teachers, so you will get START/SIGNET folders from the classroom teacher. There will be no zoom meeting this week.

Update Week of 5/26/20:
Good Morning Parents,

Just a very quick update. There are new activities posted to Teams and Canvas. There will also be a Zoom meeting at 11am on Thursday to present the Ball to Cup project. Students can either use the original one they made or create a new one for the meeting. If they want to use a video they previously sent, please let me know NO LATER than Wednesday morning.

Update Week of 5/18/20:

Good Morning Parents,
I just wanted to send an update letting you know that activities are posted on Canvas and Teams. If you need help logging in, please let me know.
One thing that I need to clarify. Each of the assignments are set up for a week. The next week, there is a new set of activities. All of these are optional. Also, the previous ones stay up so students who may not have been able to do them have the opportunity to do so. If your child does an assignment that is a few weeks old, please have them message me. Sometimes the program does not inform us when old assignments are done.
Have a great day,
Anthony Sarlo

UPDATE WEEK of 5/11/20:

Just a really quick update. New lessons have been posted to Teams and Canvas. If you are a King student and you can move over to Canvas, please do so. It seems to be much easier for kids to navigate. If they feel comfortable with Teams, it is no problem if they keep using it.

If you have any questions or need anything, please let me know. I can send extensions or evaluate anything your children are doing.

UPDATE WEEK of 5/4/20:
Hello Students and Parents,

I hope you are all doing well. This weeks lessons have been posted to Teams and Canvas. Canvas is our new learning tool and King Elementary is trying it out this week. The lessons are the same on both Teams and Canvas. Please use the one you are most comfortable with. YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THEM IN BOTH PLACES. If you have any questions or need any help, please let me know.

UPDATE WEEK of 4/27/20:
Hi Students and Parents,

Lessons have been posted to Teams for the week. I am starting to hear a lot of feedback that students are able to get on Teams easily. On May 4th, a lot of teachers are going to start using a program called Canvas. It is very similar to Teams. I will post the same lesson on each program. Use either one you feel more comfortable with.

You can sign into Teams here.

To sign in students need their 365 login information.

Gifted identification will continue, however, it will not be decided on until we return from Summer Vacation. Services for gifted students (if things open on time) will begin at the end of September. Gifted Resource Teachers will be using August and September to finish all identification cases that are open. If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to ask.

Office hours are Wednesdays from 9-10 through email. If you would like me to call you, just let me know in the email.
