Lashondra Rice
Greetings Everyone!

Born in Columbus, Mississippi, my husband affectionately calls me a “Southern Bell.”  I’m a proud and supportive military spouse. My husband of 23 years, Edwin Rice Jr., is a member of the Air Force stationed at the Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Mississippi University for Women, Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University and my Ed.S. Degree from Cambridge College. I have taught
2nd-6th grades and on the college level.  I have had the opportunity to travel and teach in Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, North Dakota, Japan, Panama, United Kingdom and here in Virginia with Prince William County Public Schools.

I am from a family of educators. My mother taught for 35 years and now owns and operates her own child development center…AT 74! I want to be like her when I grow up! Her passion and excellence in educating children continues to transform the lives of so many families. She is the reason I began teaching. My obedience in her direction of college major choices paid off. I too chose teaching and have had the most rewarding experiences working with children and staff all over the world.

I am so excited to begin my administrative journey with each of you here at King ES! I believe in team work and building strong relationships not only with our students, but all stakeholders involved in the education of our 21st century learners. It takes a village and ALL of us believing ALL children can learn! The success of ALL children should be our reasons WHY!

I embrace new opportunities to continue to make a difference in the lives of children. As your Administrative Intern, I look forward to working with our Principal, Amy Larsen, as we take Martin Luther King Jr. ES to the next levels of success.
